VISIONARY

Photo & Video Artist / Drone Pilot

From decades of adventure and experience, I have become the person behind McKnz Media, a creative studio built on a lifelong passion for capturing motion, machines, and landscapes with precision and purpose. My journey began with a camera in one hand and a remote control in the other—photographing life as it unfolded and pushing the limits of RC vehicles just to see what was possible. That curiosity grew into a love of design and visual storytelling, leading me to study photography, 3D animation, and transportation design. While I didn’t take the traditional graduation route, the years I invested in learning gave me the tools to create visuals that feel authentic, grounded, and dynamic.

For over 35 years, my work has blended motorsports, adventure, and design. I’ve wrenched on motorcycles, raced them, and then turned around to capture the same machines on track at places like Laguna Seca, COTA, Pikes Peak, and the Isle of Man TT. Along the way, I ran shops like Rever Corsa and Barnstormers, designing and building custom motorcycles while documenting racing culture through photography and film. My path has never been linear—it’s been about curiosity, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of capturing speed, grit, and beauty in equal measure.

Today, McKnz Media focuses on adventure, motorsports, and properties. That means documenting the raw thrill of track days, the quiet beauty of overlanding and fishing trips, or the elegance of luxury ranches and real estate. Drone work is part of what I do, but it’s never the whole picture—my focus is on telling stories that merge landscape, machine, and human experience. Whether I’m shooting from behind a lens or flying above the treeline, my goal is simple: to create images and films that feel alive, timeless, and true to the spirit of the subject.

Career Journey

Early Foundations

  • Late 1980s – Early 1990s: At Lake Highlands High School, I immersed myself in film photography and CAD for four years, building the foundation of my technical and creative skills. Yes, I used to shoot and develop film photography. I continued at East Texas State University for two years, refining my photography while learning how to capture motion and narrative in images.

Motorsports & Mechanics

  • Late 1990s – Early 2000s: My passion for motorcycles led me to work as a mechanic at Kasson’s Yamaha/Ducati and later in sales at Pro Italia Aprilia/Ducati. During this time, I began documenting motorsports with digital cameras—shooting shifter kart races in Texas and professional events like Superbike and MotoGP at Laguna Seca and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Design & Innovation

  • 2000s: I pursued creative design at the International Fine Arts College (3D Animation, 2 years) and the Art Center College of Design (Transportation Design, 3 years). While I didn’t complete the programs formally, I explored motorcycle concepts and even prototyped a new rotary engine design. To solidify my technical background, I graduated from the American Motorcycle Institute with a Ducati specialization.

Entrepreneurship & Racing Culture

  • 2010s: I founded Rever Corsa, a custom racing motorcycle shop focused on Aprilia and Ducati, followed by Barnstormers, a vintage custom shop building Ducati, Norton, and Triumph motorcycles. My creative lens took me across the globe, documenting iconic events like Isle Of Man TT races along with MotoGP, Formula 1, and WEC Le Mans Racing at COTA as well as grassroots track days and local racing.

Expanding Horizons

  • 2010s – 2020s: My work branched into real estate and development. As a licensed agent and Development Specialist for Don MacNamara at Long Cove on Cedar Creek Lake, I merged storytelling and lifestyle marketing with property development. I acquired my FAA Part 107 UAS / Drone Pilots License and blended my past 3D modeling skills for dynamic 3D mapping of properties. Today, these skills continue through McKnz Media—where my creative eye meets the worlds of adventure, motorsports, and properties.

LOCATION

Locations / Places

Austin, Texas / Hill Country

McKnz Media is proudly rooted in the vibrant energy of Austin and the rugged beauty of the Texas Hill Country. From photographing luxury ranches and wide-open landscapes to capturing the action at Formula 1 and MotoGP races at COTA, this region is both home base and creative playground. With FAA Part 107 certification, 40+ years of photography mastery, and hands-on motorsports and real estate experience, we deliver visuals that are as authentic as the terrain we work in. Our deep connection to Texas—its rivers, lakes, backroads, and big skies—brings both expertise and passion to every project.

Nomadic Traveler

Being nomadic by choice, we roam Texas and beyond—equipped with overlanding rigs, camping gear, and a full mobile studio—to capture stories wherever they unfold. Whether it’s mapping a luxury resort, filming an action-packed water park, or documenting gold prospecting in the mountains, our gear and lifestyle let us adapt to any environment. This mobility gives clients access to custom-tailored visuals that combine professional production with a spirit of exploration.

Beyond Texas

McKnz Media also extends far beyond the Hill Country. We hold gold prospecting claims in Colorado’s Western Slope, where rugged terrain and mountain light inspire some of our most adventurous work. Along the Florida Panhandle, time spent living on the water, fishing from beaches, and exploring coastal culture shapes a unique coastal perspective. Overland travel has also taken us across Northern Arkansas, Southern Louisiana, and North Carolina—each location adding new layers of inspiration and visual storytelling to our craft.
